Research has shown that people of South Asian descent are at greater risk of developing heart disease and stroke – and at a much earlier age – compared with other ethnic groups. Contributing to this risk is the greater chance of high blood pressure and diabetes amongst South Asians. The Foundation has translated and culturally adapted some key resources to help you understand the risk factors and provide you with information and support in reducing that risk, including how to recognize heart disease and stroke in yourself or a loved one.
