2015 Canadian Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care

The Heart and Stroke Foundation is the co-author of the 2015 Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) in North America and the Canadian leader in resuscitation science, education and training. Our job, as the founding and only Canadian member of the ILCOR, is to bring together and support Canadian subject matter experts from around the globe in reviewing the ILCOR recommendations and developing the Canadian Guidelines.

The Guidelines are updated every 5 years, when evidence is clear that changes will improve survival rates. The Heart and Stroke Foundation released the 2015 Guidelines Update October 15, 2015.

2016 Canadian Consensus Guidelines on First Aid and CPR

For the first time, Canada’s five leading not-for-profit training agencies have joined together to release an evidence-based set of recommendations on training and standards of practice for first aid and CPR.

The 2016 Canadian Consensus Guidelines on First Aid and CPR contain recommendations that will help first aid and CPR providers in the workplace, community or in advanced life-saving roles to keep up to date with new techniques and approaches based on the best evidence that they will improve outcomes for people who experience cardiac arrest or other medical emergencies.
